Britney Spears has opened up about the importance of ‘self-care after her father Jamie Spears stepped down as her conservator.
The Toxic hitmaker, 39, took to Instagram on Monday to share some words of wisdom with her 33.4 million followers.
Sharing a quote to her grid, the chart-topper penned: “Sometimes self-care is the simple act of doing nothing.”

Ever since her public breakdown in 2008, Britney’s dad Jamie had been in complete control of her estate, finances and personal movements down to what kind of mobile phone she was allowed to use.

After 13 long years and a tough battle, Britney’s dreams came true last week when her father finally agreed to step down as her main conservator.
In the documents obtained by The Sun, Mr Spears’ lawyer wrote: “There are, in fact, no actual grounds for suspending or removing Mr Spears as the Conservator of the Estate and it is highly debatable whether a change in conservator at this time would be in Ms Spears’ best interests.”
“Nevertheless, even as Mr Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests.
“Regardless of his formal title, Mr Spears will always be Ms Spears’ father, he will always love her unconditionally, and he will always look out for her best interests.”
Britney previously claimed her conservatorship is “abusive”, comparing her treatment to those who have been sex-trafficked.
“The only similar thing to this is called sex trafficking … The people who did this to me should not be able to walk away so easily … I’m not here to be anyone’s slave,” she said.
She told the judge that she was constantly told “no” by those who enforce it and that she felt “ganged up on” and “bullied”.
“I feel left out and alone. And I’m tired of feeling alone,” she explained.
“This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good.
“I deserve to have a life. I’ve worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two to three-year break.”
Britney’s future freedom has is being celebrated by her millions of fans across the globe who have all thrown support behind the viral Free Britney campaign in recent years.
Stars such as Paris Hilton, Linsdey Lohan, and Kim Kardashian have also all spoken out against Britney’s conservatorship in recent months.
