Dean Henderson will miss Manchester United’s training camp in Scotland this week after recently contracting COVID-19.

The 24-year-old first withdrew from England’s EURO 2020 squad with a hip problem but revealed recently that he had fully recovered.

He then contracted the COVID-19 and was forced to self-isolate as part of the necessary measures put in place.

“Dean Henderson will miss Manchester United’s Scotland training camp while he continues his recovery from prolonged fatigue after contracting a COVID-19 infection three weeks ago,” the club said in a short statement.

“He is expected to be training again soon.”

In his absence, David De Gea, who linked up with the squad at the camp in Scotland on Monday following his post-Euros break, will be between the posts for the last friendly match, with new recruit Tom Heaton and Lee Grant also available.

United will play Everton in their last pre-season friendly, before the opening Premier League match against Leeds United on 14 August.
